Komuso pointed me to brouhaha over at Slimmie’s blog here regarding SLCC. What SLCC again? First there was issue on “rules and regulations” appearing after the fact which had many people caught between a rock and a hard place-having already paid registration, bought airline tickets, etc. Now there is a big to do over an additional questionable agreement needing to be signed. Wow what happened to going to hang out and meet virtual friends in person and just plain fun? Yeesh. Everyone is just Phreaking out here.

What ? Oh Virtual Hot Wings-yeah very clever viral marketing campaign going on. Kudos to Emperor Hand(Christopher S. Penn) and Chel Pixie(Michelle Wolverton) for helping orchestrate this fan-generated virtual CD of Hali Heron(Matthew Ebel). Many creative SLers involved on this project. I happened to sit in on Coffee with Crayon this morning and these folks were rabidly planning their marketing (being a marketer myself this stuff gets me going) campaign to help their musician-friend get greater exposure here in the Metaverse. Blabbed enough but for you detail junkies go here for your fix.
Oh an best of all you can sample before you buy if you go to Crayon-Virtual Thirst pavilion Fri 5/25 at 11:00 AM SLT-Hali Heron is gonna stretch his wings and chirp for y’all.

I was getting caught up on my Google Reader blog back log when I came across this post in Second Life Insider-”Ban on Photographs in Open Sim.” Upon reading further I found out that the articlle asserted the Kokomo sim, home of such famous music venues as Old Salt’s, The Basement, Kokomo Fall’s , and Kokomo Tiki Gardens. This peaked my curiousity because I happen to know CaveClub Milk( manager of Old Salt’s Pub) so I fired up skype and asked him what the 411 was.
He told me that the policy in question brought up by Caliandris Pendragon is purely directed at protecting their intellectual property rights as owners and builders, and was approximately 4 months old at the time of their posting. They simply don’t want any of their original designs or textures being pirated and showing up in other people’s builds. They have no ability or desire to prohibit individuals taking photographs on the Kokomo sim. In essence, CC’s position is purely anti-piracy and not anti-photography.Â
Thank you for the clarification and all the great music events CC and company!

I’d be remiss if I didn’t report on attending Capos Calderwood’s/Alex Whitmore’s performance last Sun. at Gardens of Eternal Bliss. Some of the nicest and finest Americana (some country blues, some folk) and Texas-style picking and singing I’ve ever heard. Capos wife and daughter(my apologies on lack of their names) also joned in. Mrs. Calderwood had beautiful almost operatic voice, and Ms. Calderwood a classic country voice pure, rich, and beautiful. I so hope Ms. Calderwood continues to perform with her dad or on her own in SL. FYI-almost everyone there was an SL musician, so that gives you an idea on Capos musical skills.
