Blissful Eyes and Ears

I happened to ping Jaynine Scarborough yesterday. She is a new friend and talented singer/musician that has international experience as voice teacher in RL. She shot back with invite to come over and see her ‘house.” Well I like Jaynine and enjoyed chatting with her on our first met, so even though I thought what can be so special about her house, I figured I’d be polite and said, “why not.” Boy was I mistaken as you can see in picture. Her house is spread out over entire sim and features magnificent caverns, waterfalls with fog and waves and wonderful lighting and art..alas I digress.
News Flash: Jaynine has agreed to let us do a pictorial feature of her complete property so look for that soon!
Well if that wasn’t impressive enough I mentioned to Jaynine that I had never heard her in SL just on some recordings of SL performance. The the gracious hostess asked me if I’d like her to play something for me. Instantly I said yes, and Jaynine treated me to a number of different song stylings ranging from arias in English and Spanish to some lovely jazzy numbers all accompanied by her lovely guitar playing.
If you haven’t heard Jaynine make sure you go to hear her at Bliss Gardens on Sundays where you can also hear the talented Julian Vesta and others in one of the most beautifully serene music venues in the metaverse.
Musical Family Holiday Bliss

I’d be remiss if I didn’t report on attending Capos Calderwood’s/Alex Whitmore’s performance last Sun. at Gardens of Eternal Bliss. Some of the nicest and finest Americana (some country blues, some folk) and Texas-style picking and singing I’ve ever heard. Capos wife and daughter(my apologies on lack of their names) also joned in. Mrs. Calderwood had beautiful almost operatic voice, and Ms. Calderwood a classic country voice pure, rich, and beautiful. I so hope Ms. Calderwood continues to perform with her dad or on her own in SL. FYI-almost everyone there was an SL musician, so that gives you an idea on Capos musical skills.

Alazarin Guitar Wizard

This is the second time I’ve caught this wonderful progressive rock guitarist/keyboard player and builder of gorgeous Myst-like builds here. Prog rock is a genre that I grew up on and had all but long forgotten. To hear Alazarin Mondrian play is all melodic beauty, passion, and fire. Plus I hung out and chatted with him and another talented musician Jaynine Scarborough afterwords conversing about our favorite musicians. Almost forgot, I’m in Taiwan, Alazarin in London, England, and Jaynine in Berlin, Germany-gotta love SL live music!
Please do not be like Naydee McGettigan; organize a cool event, do a beautiful signboard for it(see picture) and get it to us just hours before the event. Ideally get it to us at least 3 days before (earlier the better) and give us brief summary and image file of event.
Now if you want to have the classiest club in SL, then do be like Naydee-she runs the Blue Note Jazz Club where the swankiest dancing and ice skating in SL goes on every day.
Elmo Needs Help

Rich Desoto ( a real nice guy and talented musician) who I met earlier tonight provided an excellent suggestion to benefit another SL musician in need right now: Elmo Balderdash/ Steve Dockery (who suffered a stroke). Read Rich’s post here. Buy a cd if you can and if you are in SL you can also pay Elmo directly in his profile if you care to. Be nice to leave him IM too. Great time of year to show some love to someone in need that has brought much joy and good will to SL community.
Sharing Assets

Cylindrian Rutabaga shows us that while not her biggest or best asset (that being her beautiful singing voice of course) she values her SL Notes jacket highly. She also seems impressed by the special show of Juel Resistance and Obscuro in Transylvania. Unfortuantely that show is invitation only. Make sure you go hear Cyl and Juel during this holiday season and spread the holiday cheer!
